Puzzle Platformer with a strange mechanic.
Torquel is a strange game with a peculiar name. This is a platformer where you’re doing a traditional 2d platforming of getting from point a to point b, but you play as this family that lives in a cube.
The family can extend blocks out of their cube left, right, up, and down to help them cross through the dangers and lava pits. They can also roll? It seems a pretty discomfiting way to live but to each their own.
A few of the levels were interesting, but by and large, the wonky physics of this game often made it feel that getting through the lava and challenges felt more like luck than skill. Also, the reset on death was a full 3-4 seconds, which was way way too long and drove me nuts when I got into the more difficult levels.
