Adventures of a Radish Review

Grade: C+

Cute retro-2D platformer that missed the mark on the difficulty

Adventures of a Radish is a 2D side-scrolling platformer made in NES style. It’s a simple run-and-jump game where you destroy enemies by jumping on top of them.

There’s a lot of cuteness going on in the game with both the enemies and main character, and that’s the game’s big draw.

As far as difficulty settings, though, the game design missed. The game’s final boss was defeated in about 5 seconds, and throughout, I felt like the game was on the easy side.

This is a solo dev project, and so the lack of complexity is ok and understandable. It’s worth a playthrough if you have time and want cute retro-sidescrolling. There are seven worlds to explore; it takes about an hour total if you take your time.

Final Boss!
