Simple game jam game with platforming and combat
Down to Earth was created in 2019 in a week for a game jam. It has just a few simple elements. You fight space cats while trying to find a portal to escape. Each level has some platforming and fighting.
Summary
This game was a pass for me. I got motion sickness while playing, and the combination of 2D assets on a 3D map was disjointed at best. In addition, the platforming was simple and frustrating due to the unturned movement controls.
Down to Earth was reminiscent of many Roblox games I’ve played with the kids. Felt amateurish and slapped together.
With that said, if you gave me a week to make a game, I likely couldn’t do any better. But I also wouldn’t charge money for the game experiment or publish it to the world.
