The game name has everything you need to know.
BulletHell Planes let you control a blue plane, fighting against the waves or red planes and purple planes. The red planes come at you in a straight line vertically down the screen, and the purple planes move towards you diagonally.
You have two Gatling gun weapons, which can destroy the missiles coming at you and also the enemy planes. However, if both your left or right guns overheat at once, then you’re defenseless for a minute, which equates to instant death.
I didn’t find any powerups or items, and BulletHell Planes seemed to be a small game just focusing on a single mechanic.
The music was catchy, and I had a bug-free play-through, so kudos to the developer for making something that worked as intended.
If you want a 10-minute quick distraction, then BulletHell Planes might be a game to install. It’s free to play on itch even if you didn’t get the racial justice bundle.
